設想今天修了一堂生物學概論，期末考的時候，你與其它修課的同學被三人等分成若干組，每組桌上僅提供白紙及幾支筆，並無看見任何的試卷。此時助教突然從門外用一台手推車推入一只用白色布條蓋住的大型物體，無法清晰的看出其型態，僅能依稀可見未被白布條遮住的地方是四條細長的，如動物腿的部份。此時，助教告訴眾人，這是一個長頸鹿標本，本次期末考的重點即是請大家以任何方式，但在不掀開白布的前提下，描述這隻長頸鹿的種類、特徵，包含習性、飲食狀況、雄雌等。考試時間為120分鐘，在助教宣佈考試開始後，倒數展開。
