和平獎頒獎前夕 美促北京釋放劉曉波

北京異議作家劉曉波鋃鐺入獄屆滿5年，美國國務卿凱瑞(John Kerry)9日敦促北京政府，釋放這位諾貝爾和平獎得主。

劉曉波因為起草與聯署「零八憲章」，呼籲大陸當局推行民主憲政，而於2008年12月8日被捕，2009年12月25日被以所謂的「煽動顛覆國家政權罪」判處11年重刑，目前在遼寧省錦州監獄服刑。

劉曉波和平推動民主的努力，深受國際社會肯定，因而贏得2010年諾貝爾和平獎。

2013年諾貝爾和平獎頒獎典禮預定10日在挪威舉行，凱瑞在頒獎前夕也籲請中國大陸，解除對劉曉波妻子劉霞的居家軟禁，並且對北京政府箝制其他異議人士的作法表達關切，其中包括反貪腐人士許志永在內。

凱瑞表示，美國強烈敦促中國大陸當局釋放劉曉波、結束劉霞的居家軟禁，並且保障劉曉波與劉家人所有獲國際認可的人權保護與自由。

凱瑞在呼籲與中國大陸建立「建設性關係」的同時也表示，美國持續認為，尊重國際人權對中國大陸的成長、繁榮與長期穩定至關重要。
