美國總統歐巴馬8日在美國加州贈予中國大陸國家主席習近平一把加州紅杉木製成的長椅。前美國總統尼克森1972年訪陸時，曾送給大陸多株加州紅杉樹苗。

習近平當地時間8日在加州陽光莊園與歐巴馬舉行中美元首第二場會晤。

中新網報導，會晤開始前，習近平和歐巴馬在莊園散步並在輕鬆的氣氛中交流。歐巴馬將一把加州紅衫木製作的長椅贈予習近平。

報導說，紅杉樹是加州名貴樹種。1972年，首位訪問大陸的美國總統尼克森，將幾株加州紅杉樹苗作為禮物送給大陸。此後，大陸一些省市引種了加州紅杉樹，加州紅杉成為中美友誼的象徵。
