Lamigo桃猿上半季戰績不佳，除了投手群表現不理想，傷兵不斷也是一大原因，除了先前受傷的郭嚴文、林智勝，陳冠任也因膝傷，24日之戰沒有先發，8局下代打，雖敲出安打，但陳冠任忍痛跑上一壘之後，卻必須由隊友洪臣宇協助，才能回到休息區。
總教練洪一中賽前說「可能明天（25日）要讓陳冠任下二軍」，連傷三員大將，桃猿上半季前景不樂觀。
桃猿投手群表現不佳，已是老問題，24日之戰前，投手防禦率5.32，居四隊之末（義大犀牛3.43、統一獅3.58、兄弟象3.63），投手群壓不住，連洪總都搖頭嘆息，找不到解決的方法。
洪總說「本土的先發投手，只有曾兆豪表現還算穩定，但他的防禦率也有4.20」，而兩名先發洋投雷力、波拉斯的防禦率也都超過4（雷力防禦率4.55、波拉斯4.38），壓制力也不足，桃猿雖然找了德本來測試，但能不能用，仍無法確定。
投手群的狀況已經很糟，打擊群又不斷出現傷兵，郭嚴文、林智勝、陳冠任相繼掛出傷號，讓整隊的攻擊力減弱不少，桃猿上半季會敬陪末座，不是沒原因的。
