美國喪失UNESCO投票權

美國2011年11月以來拖欠聯合國教科文組織 (UNESCO)會費，如果8日以前不補繳，將被UNESCO取消投票權，而且一定會取消，因為美國法律規定，聯合國任何組織只要接納巴勒斯坦為會員，美國就自動停繳該組織每年八千萬美元 (占UNESCO每年總預算22%的會費)。UNESCO在2011年接納巴勒斯坦。歐巴馬曾擬修法，但國會至今未審他的提案。美國如果被停投票權，對美國在全球文化、科學、教育各方面的影響力將是重大打擊。
