高雄市關懷流浪動物協會5月29日接獲民眾通報，指出高雄市田寮區新隙路沿路上，發現一群慘遭惡意遺棄的小狗，身上都有嚴重的皮膚病，其中更不乏馬爾濟斯、紅貴賓、臘腸狗等名狗，懷疑是遭惡劣的繁殖場所丟棄，高雄市關懷流浪動物協會、高雄動保處、以及當地國軍、民眾等都加入搶救工作，幾天來的圍捕搶救已找回23隻小狗。
根據當地居民指出，一天傍晚曾看到有人在山頭附近徘徊，等他追向前去，才看見地上被棄置一只麻布袋，裡頭裝的竟是一隻隻的小狗；也有民眾指出，聽見一聲巨響後，只見一輛廂型車揚長離去，留下一地的小型犬四處散落…驚恐逃竄。
棄犬者竟沿著兩個山頭沿路丟棄了4～50隻毛孩子，任由牠們自生自滅，高雄市關懷流浪動物協會也發現，有部分居民發現這些棄犬後，私自將牠們帶回家，因整起棄犬案已交由動保處及警察單位處理，私自帶走不通報恐有糾紛，因此也呼籲民眾若拾獲棄犬，應立即向協會或動保處通報列管，等案件過後再開放領養帶回。

面對惡劣的繁殖場棄犬者，高雄市關懷流浪動物協會不放過任何機會，除了積極尋狗外，更希望能將罔顧小動物生命的人找出來，已祭出5萬元賞金，緝捕棄養人，民眾若有任何線索，或得知該地區有疑似繁殖場，皆可提供給協會。
