〈中國公開賽〉擊敗Nadal奪冠　Djokovic證明自己

儘管球王寶座早已確定被搶走，但Novak Djokovic還是要證明自己有能力與Rafael Nadal一較高下，最終在中國公開賽男子單打冠軍賽中，以6比3、6比4讓Nadal吞下本季第4敗，奪下個人5年內的第4個中國公開賽冠軍。

Djokovic連2盤都在一開局就破發掌握先機，最終讓Nadal吞下今年硬地球場首敗，終止2人對戰的3連敗。Djokovic說：「今天我需要這1勝，我真的很想捧起冠軍獎盃，也想要擊敗2013年至今表現最佳的球員Nadal。」

幾近完美的發球以及能夠保持冷靜的能力，是Djokovic致勝的關鍵，而他表示，參加雙打比賽也有助於建立信心：「這對於面對頂尖球員必須要有的信心很重要，像Nadal這樣的頂尖球員，他喜歡對抽，喜歡待在自己能感到自在的地方，而我則試著讓他到處跑，這點我做得相當不錯。」

儘管落敗，Nadal還是確定重返世界排名第1。談到這場比賽，Nadal認為Djokovic的發球決定了這場比賽的勝負：「整場比賽我的回發球都無法為我製造機會，當這種事情發生在對上像Novak這樣的球員時，你就完了。」

隨後的女子單打冠軍賽中，早已確定成為年終球后的Serena Williams，輕鬆連2盤6比2擊敗Jelena Jankovic，奪下她本季第10冠、生涯第56冠。Williams說：「我很興奮，一開始我沒有覺得自己能奪冠，所以舉起冠軍獎盃時我真的很開心。」
