撞死柔市老婦逃逸司机自首

【大紀元2014年01月03日訊】在洛杉磯柔似蜜市撞死一名中國籍柴姓老婦的司機日前已到洛城天普警察局自首。自首的司機姓吳(Janet Ngo Bowman)，她承認在12月29日駕駛一輛2007年Nissan Murano SUV車，經過Marshall街時撞到「物體」，但當時不知是撞到了人。

上週日晚7點，69歲的中國籍老婦柴慶榮（Qingrong Chai）在柔斯密市Marshall街和Greendale大道附近行走時被一輛沒有打開前燈的越野車撞到，司机逃逸，柴慶榮當場死亡。本週四是她70歲生日。

事隔一天後，吳某向有關部門自首。她的車被扣押作證，她本人被以涉嫌撞人逃逸和重大車禍過失殺人罪逮捕。

吳某在交納5萬保釋金後已獲得保釋，她將於2月28日出庭應訊。死者家屬表示，雖然肇事者自首，但是其現場逃逸行為不可原諒。
