印度已將橡膠的進口關稅調高近50%，欲藉此保護國內農民不受國外的便宜橡膠衝擊。

印度政府宣布，橡膠的進口關稅從每公斤20盧比調高到30盧比（48.4美分），另一個以價格計算的方式則維持在市價的20%不變，政府將視哪種方式算出的關稅較低來課稅。以目前市價計算，印度對進口橡膠課的有效關稅將從每公斤約18盧比提高到約28盧比。

印度橡膠局的數據顯示，今年4至11月印度進口的橡膠大增53%至23萬7,723公噸。膠農要求政府調高橡膠進口關稅，以阻止進口橡膠繼續衝擊他們的收入。印度政府表示，調高橡膠進口關稅將使逾120萬名農民受惠。
