NSA泄密雇員史諾登的俄國律師Kucherena說，史諾登11月1日起將到俄國一個主要網站上班，工作是「支持並發展」那個網站。各界盛傳是總部在聖彼得堡的俄國最大社群網站VKontakte(直譯「保持聯絡」)。史諾登8月獲得俄國政府給予庇護時，該網站的共同創辦人，29歲的Pavel Durov公開邀請他加入這個網站的「明星程式陣容」，請他協助「保護我們無數用戶的個資」。VKontakte有一億用戶。
