iPad 推出之後開啟了新平板紀元，即使 iPad 已經推出到了第四代依然有非常好的銷售量。Windows 陣營則是不甘示弱拿出了 Windows 8、Windows RT 來迎擊，試圖扭轉這個局面，現在微軟官方網站也出現了 Windows 8 平板和 iPad 的比較表，也拍了一個逗趣的廣告。
Siri（偽）：我什麼都沒有
開始介紹之前，我們先來看這段 Windows 8 平板和 iPad mini 比較的廣告影片。
影片內用 Siri 的聲音來表示 iPad 沒有動態磚、只能做一件事（不支援多工），不方便做報告，最後只好一邊玩鋼琴鍵盤。
一開始還以為這是有人在惡搞 iPad 的影片，但這其實是微軟官方所拍攝的廣告。畫面轉到微軟的官方網站還可以看到目前 Windows 平板一字排開地和 iPad 做比較，只要點選平板型號就可以出現不同 Windows 平板來和 iPad mini 對決比較。目前有 ASUS VivoTab Smart、Dell XPS 10、HP ENVY x2、Microsoft Surface RT，四台平板來對決，其中有兩台是 Windows 8，兩台是 Windows RT 的系統。
Apple 和 PC 陣營較勁其實也不是什麼新鮮事，過去 Apple 就常常拍攝 Apple 與 PC 的廣告來酸 PC 有許多麻煩和複雜的功能，最近這幾年 iPad、iPhone 熱銷之後才開始主打自己產品的優點而不做比較性質的廣告。Windows 8 推出之後，微軟一直想要拿下平板市埸的企圖非常明顯，自己還跳下海做 Surface，這次還拍了和 iPad 對決的影片，新一代的平板大戰相信很快就會有另一波的高潮出現。
