中國國家主席習近平近日暗示，為避免環境進一步惡化，將容易較慢的經濟成長。同時中國國務院也表示，將以市場導向為主體的改革，取代短期經濟刺激措施。

中共中央政治局 24 日就推動生態文明召開會議，據《新華網》報導，習近平在會議中強調，「決不以犧牲環境去換取一時的經濟成長」，並表示，要正確處理好經濟發展與生態環境保護的關係。

同日，中國國務院也公布一系列經改方案，發改委表明 2013 年改革重點工作，是深入推進行政體制改革，加強財稅、金融、投資、價格等領域改革，中國政府將推進利率匯率市場化改革等措施。

中國國務院總理李克強在瑞士演講時表示，中國第 1 季經濟增長幅度在合理運行區間，今年 GDP 增長目標為 7.5%，首季 7.7% 已經超過此目標。
