獲提名以色列央行總裁的李德曼（Leo Leiderman）2日宣布放棄總裁職位，成為一周內第二位退出的總裁候選人，使總理內唐亞胡臉上無光。

據總理辦公室公布的簡訊，李德曼表示將放棄央行總裁候選資格，但並未說明原因。

耶路撒冷希伯來大學政治科學教授迪斯金說：「這無疑讓內唐亞胡大大丟臉，儘管在國內政壇的影響有限，但各國可能會開始懷疑他掌管經濟的能力。」

李德曼曾任央行首席經濟學家與研究部門主管，現為Hapoalim銀行經濟部門主管，在弗蘭克爾（Jacob Frenkel）宣布放棄職位後，由內唐亞胡7月31日任命為央行總裁，接替6月底卸任的前總裁費雪。

媒體日前報導，弗蘭克爾七年前在香港機場免稅店偷竊遭警方拘留，他隨即宣布放棄總裁提名，並澄清這起事件只是一場誤會。
