| 火燒8小時 肯亞機場入境大廳全毀

濃煙密佈直衝天際，一場突然來的大火襲擊了肯亞首都奈落比的甘耶達國際機場。肯亞官員：「大火大概在凌晨5點，在入境大廳開始燒起來，我們現在可以確認火勢已經被控制住，沒有持續擴散。」
消防車在大火燒了2個小時後趕到，花了4個小時才控制火勢，但隨後又延燒了2個小時，機場內的噴水系統完全失靈，消防栓一度噴不出水，讓機場的國際線入境大廳全毀。火災目擊者：「當我準備要登機的時候，我們被告知要迅速離開，接著30分鐘內，入境大廳就陷入火海。」
專家認為，機場的消防設備老舊，加上奈洛比的消防車嚴重不足，才會延誤救火，造成機場嚴重損失，甘耶達國際機場是東非區域轉運中心，有27家航空公司進駐，飛往23國，1天的客流量有1萬6千人，每年有超過500萬旅客進出，是歐洲旅客進入非洲的大門，也是肯亞花卉外銷的出口站，大火無情肆虐，勢必對肯亞經濟造成衝擊。
CNN主播奎斯特：「從歐洲到非洲，再到亞洲或是非洲大陸其他地方，甘耶達機場是重要的轉運站，從這裡可以看出為什麼奈洛比這裡這麼重要。」
不過大火發生的時機，剛好遇上美國駐肯亞大使館遭到炸彈攻擊的15週年，當時造成超過200人死亡，4000多人受傷，加上最近美國的恐怖威脅不斷，一度引發外界揣測，難道又是另外一起恐怖攻擊。CNN記者：「美國受到恐怖威脅，在東非美國使館暫時關閉，肯亞政府也相當謹慎，不想造成民眾的恐慌。」
肯亞政府否認和恐怖攻擊有關，不過肩負轉運功能的機場，遭到大火嚴重破壞，也燒出了肯亞的經濟危機。
