繼成功打造黑暗騎士之後，華納再次把 DC 漫畫中最為人所知的英雄—超人再度搬上銀幕。這次由《300 壯士：斯巴達的逆襲》、《守護者》導演查克史奈德執導，《全面啟動》、《黑暗騎士》導演克里斯多福諾蘭擔任監製。主要卡司大膽啟用亨利卡維爾領銜主演超人/克拉克肯特角色。另外還包括四度奧斯卡獎提名女星艾美亞當絲飾演「每日星球報」記者露薏絲蓮恩；奧斯卡獎提名男星勞倫斯費許朋飾演露薏絲的總編輯派瑞懷特；奧斯卡獎提名女星黛安蓮恩及奧斯卡獎得主凱文科斯納飾演克拉克的養父母瑪莎和強納林肯特，超人的父親喬艾爾，則由奧斯卡獎得獎男星羅素克洛飾演。電影於今年 6 月上映，票房在全球勢如破竹，創下全美 2 億 9 千萬，全球 6 億 6 千多萬的驚人成績。第 2 集也已經宣佈將於 2015 年暑假上映。
一位年輕男孩得知他的超凡能力並不源自地球。長大成人後，他四處飄泊意圖發掘他的身世和他被送來地球的使命。但他內心的英雄必須破繭而出，才能拯救世界免於被毀滅，並成為全人類共同的希望象徵。他屬於哪個世界？他該為哪個世界奮戰？這些是超人不斷面對的問題，他的選擇會決定這個他稱為故鄉的星球之命運。
