| 葉門警方阻止一9歲女孩結婚

英國廣播公司（BBC）網站8日報導，葉門人權部說，該部官員阻止了一場原訂8日舉行的婚禮，那場婚禮的新娘僅9歲。這是葉門第一樁童婚受阻事件。名叫希巴的這個女孩，原訂8日在葉門南部的塔伊茲市結婚。
葉門女孩在家庭安排下早婚的情況已引發國際關注，有些家庭是因為傳統嫁妝習俗而安排女兒早婚。
BBC說，希巴的故事在葉門算是很平常，她的母親早逝，現在由父親照顧她，父親已再婚。
地方人權部官員近來把童婚事件視為優先處理議題，官員得知她的婚事後，與希巴住家附近的警方聯絡，由警方出面，說服希巴的父親不要在女兒這麼小年紀就安排她出嫁。
葉門人權部現在想推動最低的法定結婚年齡，阻止這類侵害兒童人權事件。
