薩默斯：美可避開新政治僵局

（中央社台北2013年11月6日電）彭博社報導，前美國財政部長薩默斯（Lawrence Summers）預測，美國將能避免新一波政治僵局。上個月的政治僵局將這個全球最大經濟體逼到違約邊緣。
曾擔任總統歐巴馬首席經濟顧問的薩默斯，昨天稍晚在墨西哥市參加活動受訪時說：「那些拿槍射自己腳的人通常不會重蹈覆轍。所以我認為再度瀕臨違約邊緣的可能性不大。」
10月時歐巴馬執政政府和以民主黨為多數的參議院與共和黨掌控的眾議院，為了資助政府和提高法定聯邦舉債上限鬥爭，最終在美國債權耗盡前幾個小時才通過法案。此法案將債限延到明年2月7日。
目前在哈佛大學擔任教授的薩默斯說：「我們從一場鬧劇中得到解脫。我認為因為這些發展而有警戒心是對的，但看不起美國卻是不對的。」他參加由GrupoFinanciero Banorte SAB舉辦的會議。
薩默斯表示，美國政治僵局意味著美國境外的經濟成長風險。共和黨內部的茶黨將調高舉債上限的協商複雜化，他們是「最沒有建設性的演員」。（譯者：中央社陳昱婷）
