比賽進入第二節，火箭並未掌握首節拉開的差距，被鵜鶘連連追趕，目前雙方以52比52戰成平手。

第一節打下的優勢，火箭一進入第二節就流失不少，被鵜鶘打了6比0攻勢，一度剩下3分差距，不過Aaron Brooks跳出來止血，跟著Chandler Parsons 三分命中，來到43比36。

林書豪第二節前段沒有上場，倒數6分31秒時替換Francisco Garcia上來，手感依舊不佳，一次外線出手落空，截至此時，是唯一沒有得分的先發球員。

不過領先站在火箭這邊，鵜鶘暫停過後Dwight Howard灌籃來到50比44領先，但領先坐得不安穩，鵜鶘很快又追了上來。

Anthony Davis 與Austin Rivers 先後砍進三分球，Alexis Ajinca再補1顆兩分球，倒數18秒再追加一記三分球，來到52比52。

握有最後進攻機會的火箭出現失誤，鵜鶘也沒掌握最後一擊機會，以平手結束上半場比賽。
