ONS 另一份數據則顯示，英國的製造業有好消息。英國國內生產毛額 GDP 重要組成指數之一的英國生產指數 (UK Index of production)，10 月份上升了 0.4%，與原先預測的一致，若與 2012 年的 10 月份相比，則上升3.2%。
而其中，交通設備產出大增是推升英國生產指數的最大加量。
ONS 同時指出，該指數 9 月份的成率為 0.9%，高於 10 月份的成長率，主要是因為 8 月份的生產指數偏低所致。
ING 的經濟學家 Rob Carnell 對此表示，今天 ONS 公布的數據具有正面意義，使得英國第 4 季的 GDP 有了一個強勁的開始，只要不被服務業部門所拖累。不過 Carnell 也認為英國服務業部門表現不可能太差。
