紐西蘭一個當了五十年「食品消保官」的老先生，最近出了一本書，笑談他五十年食品消保官的趣聞。他說，他這五十年，檢查食品的時候，發現各式各樣光怪陸離的東西，包括牛排裡有小子彈，霜淇淋外殼裡有蟲，還有比較扯的，是跟吐司麵包一起，被切成一片一片的老鼠。

這名消保官說，提起那隻被切成片的老鼠，真是駭人聽聞。他回憶，那個時候，他們正在一間麵包店裡，監督清潔衛生計畫。有一隻老鼠，死在麵包烤盤上，結果麵包店一時不察，竟然把麵團壓在死老鼠上面，兩個一起送到烤箱裡去烤，烤完以後還直接送進切麵包機裡去切，結果後來當然發現加了料的吐司麵包，真是嚇人。
