探勘船爭議水域遭扣 委國將和蓋亞那會談

委內瑞拉政府14日發表聲明指出，委內瑞拉和蓋亞那外長17日將舉行會談，就美國石油探勘船在這兩國的爭議海域上遭到扣押一事，尋求化解之道。

聲明中說，兩國外長將在千里達及托巴哥共和國(Trinidad and Tobago)會晤，希望能化解存在於雙邊之間的外交歧見。不過蓋亞那方面尚未證實這項會談。

懸掛巴拿馬國旗的泰克尼克．帕達納號(Teknik Perdana)，是屬於美國德州的阿納達科石油公司(Anadarko Petroleum Corporation)所有。這艘船10日在艾塞奎巴(Esequiba)外海進行探勘時，遭到委內瑞拉軍艦攔截和扣押。

委內瑞拉表示，泰克尼克．帕達納號在委內瑞拉宣稱擁有的海域內，從事非法活動。但蓋亞那11日指控，這艘探勘船並未偏離蓋亞那水域，委內瑞拉此舉威脅到蓋亞那的國家安全。

艾塞奎巴面積15萬9,500平方公里，天然資源豐富，委內瑞拉自1897年起宣稱擁有當地主權。

根據委內瑞拉司法當局表示，泰克尼克．帕達納號已被押送至委內瑞拉的瑪格麗塔島(Margarita Island)，其烏克蘭籍船長貝奇洛夫(Igor Bekirov)將以入侵委內瑞拉水域的罪名出庭受審。
