大陸已成為全球旅遊最大的目標市場，去年消費總額達1,020億美元，不僅是世界第一大消費國，也是各國必爭的大市場。網路業者針對大陸遊客境外旅遊調查，台灣名列最想造訪地區的第8名；其中，六成二的民眾喜愛自由行，半數以上的遊客偏好三、四星級飯店。

全球線上飯店訂房系統Hotels.com近日發佈「2013年中國遊客境外旅遊調查報告」，各國必爭的旅遊大商機，台灣排名超前。

看好市場帶來的強勁需求，老飯店拉皮整修，各大建商也搶蓋飯店。觀光局統計，近5年已有524間新飯店落成，預計2016年將再添453 間新飯店，其中不乏看好陸客商機。
