針對洪仲丘家屬不信任軍檢，質疑起訴書中有許多錯誤一事，總統馬英九4日表示，在進入法庭審判後，家屬的疑問都可提出，他強調自己也希望找出真相，不想讓外界認為政府故意拖延。他也建議檢察官應與家屬、律師間建立平台，共同找出真相。
馬英九總統上午參加洪仲丘告別式，會後與洪家人會談了近50分鐘，國防部前部長高華柱、現任部長楊念祖、內政部次長蕭家淇、台中市長胡志強、國民黨立委楊瓊纓都在場陪同。洪家人當面向馬陳情，要求查明全案真相。
洪仲丘舅舅胡世和說，軍檢起訴書中有許多錯誤，包括將洪仲丘污名化，讓他覺得政府是「右手向家屬道歉，左手卻打家屬一巴掌」。
馬英九說，本案已在7月31日由軍事檢察官偵結起訴，18位軍士官都被求處刑責，現已進入司法審判程序。他知道家屬對於案情的事實真相還有質疑，未來洪家的律師與檢察官都可以提出。他也建議檢察官應與家屬、律師間建立平台，共同找出真相。
對於家屬質疑軍檢起訴書的問題，馬總統說，法庭上公開透明，到法院之後，可以把質疑通通提出來，家屬有機會表達意見，「找真相就是我們共同的目標，請大家放心」。
他強調，自己也希望盡快找到真相，「不趕快辦案的話，大家會認為我們故意拖延」。
