彰化第五所縣立高中　和美高中8月1日揭牌成立

彰化和美高中8月1日正式揭牌成立，成為繼二林高中、彰化藝術高中、溪湖成功高中、田中高中後，彰化縣第五所縣立高中，29日由縣長卓伯源與和美鎮長王水川共同揭幕啟動，並於即日起開始招生。

縣府為平衡教育資源，均衡城鄉教育發展，照顧弱勢經濟家庭、讓學生就近就讀學區內縣立高中，規劃由原來和美國中改制為六年一貫的完全中學。和美高中歷經二年的籌備，校舍的整建、教師的來源、學生招收以及課程的規劃，今年8月1日起開始招收高中部普通班四班，體育班一班，計五班共198名高中部新生。

未來和美高中以建立優質校園與培育健全國民為發展重點，校園進行整體規劃，分期新建國、高中教學大樓、高中部專科大樓及校園全面美化綠化，並將逾齡及老舊教室報廢拆除，提供安全的校園環境及發揮多元化的教學功能。
