民進黨立委陳亭妃偕同北榮醫師郭正典等人召開記者會，直指前總統陳水扁1天漏尿12次要換12條褲子，呼籲不要把扁當成人球，立即讓陳水扁做核磁共振（MRI）檢查。
郭正典指出，大小便失禁是腦病變的個別表現，慢慢會走向臥床變成廢人，如果不能從源頭治療，病情恐更嚴重，唯有居家治療才是從源頭改變症狀。
郭正典表示，如果不能讓陳水扁居家治療，至少先返回台北榮總進行核MRI檢查，否則惡化速度加速，他憂心陳水扁可能沒多久就無法走路。
法務部矯正署臺中監獄副典獄長趙崇智說，陳水扁的泌尿問題7月18日經中國醫藥學院與台中榮總2位泌尿科主任診斷評估後，根據醫囑已針對陳水扁每日飲水與排尿做紀錄，用藥部分也進行調整。
趙崇智還說，醫師的判斷，陳水扁排尿在合理範圍，而這個禮拜將為陳水扁安排精神科與神經內科醫師會診，作為是否做MRI檢查的評估。
