我家附近有種七里香，只要一靠近就聞到好香的味道，我問姊姊是不是要退到七里以外才能聞道味到？姊姊說應該要說退到七里外聞到的是香味；在七里以內聞到的是臭味。請問是不是這樣呢？還有它的名字是怎麼來的？是不是和姊姊說的一樣呢？

月橘（學名：Murraya paniculata），（英文名稱：Common jasmine orange、mock orange、Orange Jasmine，Orange jessamine）別名七里香。

為台灣原生植物，屬於芸香科的花卉之一，花期為整年四季，由於當其成簇的白花綻放時，會有一股濃郁的撲鼻清香，有人誇大形容其香氣彷彿可傳播七里外那麼遠都聞得到，因此得名「七里香」。(其他資訊參考連結)
