台大醫師曾御慈遭酒駕男子撞成腦死，再次激起各界對於酒駕之重視。有網友在臉書發起連署，呼籲政府修法規定酒駕者或有酒癮者如開車肇事受傷，健保局應拒絕給付健保費用，「全民共同唾棄酒駕」。該連署在兩天內吸引2千多人支持。
認真醫療，曾御慈在返家途中被酒駕男子撞成腦死，家屬拔管後同意將曾御慈作器官捐贈，遺愛人間，這份大愛讓網友感佩之餘，也怒罵酒駕者太可惡。
目前在臉書上除了有台大醫師柯文哲發起的「將酒駕視為故意犯」的連署，還有這項連署，發起人在臉書表示，從曾御慈的喪生，即可看出酒駕肇事的嚴重性，但仍有人不顧危險以身試法，顯示當事人對於別人的生命危險無感。為預防憾事再次發生，肇事醫療費用應該由酒駕者自行負擔。
網友抨擊，如健保局給付酒駕肇事者醫藥費，可說是用全民血汗錢變相鼓勵他們酒駕。
健保局曾統計，2012年因汽機車肇事衍生的醫療費用，健保局向保險公司求償的金額高達30億元。平面媒體採訪健保局表示，如社會達成共識，並達成修法，健保局不會有異議。
