裕隆集團進軍平價汽車市場踢到鐵板，由裕隆集團出頭經營的品牌「酷比」（tobe）因為銷量不佳，預計6月底將終止所有販售業務、品牌停止營運。

2009年裕隆集團成立「酷比」汽車，引進大陸吉利汽車品牌，再由裕隆三義工廠組裝，並添加配備與改變造型，試圖搶攻平價小型車市場。不過，「酷比」汽車在台銷售相當慘澹，2010年開始販售至今，只賣了3422輛汽車，遠比預定年銷售5000輛的目標相去甚遠。

追根究柢，台灣民眾對於大陸品牌汽車缺乏信心，且「酷比」上市後頻傳瑕疵，更讓消費者對它失去信心。台灣平價小型車市場仍以日系品牌汽車為主，例如豐田的Yaris仍是銷售長青樹。

除此之外，台灣實施嚴格的五期環保法規，「酷比」旗下除了電動車之外，所有的汽油車款都無法通過五期排污測試認證，更是壓死駱駝的最後一根稻草，迫使裕隆不得不放棄「酷比」汽車。

對於「酷比」汽車將停售，官網發布新聞稿表示:「針對現有保有客戶之售後服務及保固，tobe品牌將持續堅持對車主承諾，專注提升技術品質及便利性，全省29個服務據點將繼續提供車主保養服務及保固服務，請tobe所有車主安心。」
