| 經濟學人評台漁船「貪婪」 沈呂巡投書澄清

菲律賓公務船掃射我漁船「廣大興28號」事件，《經濟學人》（the Economist）亞洲版評論專欄18日的一篇「Seas of troubles」，以負面的「貪婪」（voracious）形容台灣漁船捕魚行動。對此我駐英代表沈呂巡投書澄清，並且在最新一期經濟學人刊出。
沈呂巡指出，台灣是個海島，在世界各地積極捕魚，常名列全球前10大漁權國家，即時因為政治因素，使台灣無法成為許多國際漁業協定的正式簽署國，但通常自願以簽署個別備忘錄的方式，遵守漁業捕撈額度的規範。
沈呂巡也說，台灣漁船應該被稱為「勤奮」且「無遠弗屆」，並特別在文章解釋漁民洪石成遭菲律賓公務船掃射身亡的不幸事件，是發生在兩國重疊經濟海域。
