今（2）日下午1:43分發生芮氏規模6.3地震，震央位於南投縣仁愛鄉。國防部表示，中部地區地震規模5級以上地區，已要求第5作戰區部隊完成整備，主動協助民眾災害救援事宜。

根據中央氣象局地震報告指出，2日下午1時43分3.7秒發生芮氏規模6.3的地震，震央在南投縣仁愛鄉（約為南投縣政府東方32.0公里處），地震深度為10.0公里。發生最大震度的地區在雲林縣草嶺，為6級。

中南部地區明顯感受到地震，南投日月潭、彰化縣二水、嘉義縣阿里山、彰化縣彰化市、台中市大肚、嘉義市、台南市等第震度為5級。
