Shane Battier已經開始思考未來下一步要怎麼走，這意味著他可能會選擇告別球員生涯退休去。

「我的合約是明年到期，我會好好評估屆時我該在哪裡。」Battier說，到時候自己已經36歲，是該想想要做點其他事情了。

「但船到船到橋頭自然直，聯盟中一切都可以商量的。」Battier的合約還剩下1年3270000美元，他已經在NBA打滾12年。

2011年來到熱火前，Battier待過灰熊跟火箭，904場出賽，平均每場比賽繳出9分、4.4籃板、火鍋與抄截各1的成績。

當媒體問他希望退休時，人們談到自己是如何評價，Battier說：「一個在做正確的事情，為球隊贏得比賽的人。」

「我為勝利而戰，而不是冠軍戒指。」Battier表示一直讓自己職業生涯有最大的發揮，讓自己有更大的機會，「如果有機會攻頂，像去年那樣子，自然最好不過。」
