（中央社記者陳淑芬台中9日電）台中獲頒2013全球智慧城市首獎，市長胡志強今天表示，這只是開端，中市獲獎主因在於環保、就業及經濟動能等智慧科技建設。

國際智慧城市論壇（ICF）在美國紐約時間6月5日至7日舉行2013年年會，台中市獲頒「2013全球智慧城市首獎」。台中市長胡志強今天在東勢參加「台中市匠寮文化祭」活動，接受媒體採訪時表示「很難得」。

胡志強指出，推動科技的道路很漫長，這只是開端，中市獲獎主因在於環保、就業及經濟動能等方面的建設，建構無線網路環境達到90%以上的人口覆蓋率、免費開辦電腦課程及打造中部科技走廊等。

胡志強指出，台中市政府還會再持續推動智慧資訊傳播科技，目前各洽公地點建置無線上網已達95%，今年底前會再擴展到車站、公園等公共場所。

市府研考會主委陳金發說，ICF評審曾到台中實地參訪精密機械科技園區、勤美誠品商圈、新社國小的數位學習機會中心、中華電信基金會的偏鄉數位學習機會中心、經濟部工業局雲端圖書館，對台中市政府及民間智慧科技的建置留下深刻印象。1020609
