三星電子(Samsung Electronics Co.)親自宣告傳統桌上型電腦的時代已經結束！韓國時報(Korea Times)24日報導，三星某主管表示，傳統桌上型電腦的需求已經下滑，該公司會將相關資源轉移到較受歡迎的可攜式上網裝置。他說，三星已開始擴大平板電腦、一體成型(all-in-one，簡稱AIO)電腦與筆記型電腦(NB)的研發團隊。
南韓政府才在最近將桌上型電腦指定為「自2015年起適合小型企業發展的產業」。另外一名三星主管則表示，平板電腦、一體成型電腦與混合(Hybrid)型電腦是該公司最近專注的領域。
三星轉移營運焦點，也意味著傳統桌上型電腦已開始逐漸淡出市場。三星才剛在上週五(6月21日)推出一款全新的一體成型電腦「Ativ One 5 Style(見附圖)」，外型模仿該公司大受歡迎的Galaxy系列行動裝置。
科技市調機構Strategy Analytics發表統計報告指出，今(2013)年第1季(1-3月)三星電子的全球平板電腦銷售量為910萬台，主要是拜新興市場需求增溫之賜。三星自身則計畫在今年賣出3,300萬台平板電腦，高於去年的1,600萬台。
