【大紀元2013年06月28日訊】 上個月一名61歲長者在史丹利公園騎單車時，不幸遭巴士碰撞身亡。卑詩省法醫部門展開調查，將在調查報告中研討史丹利公園中自行車騎士和行人的安全問題。
法醫部門媒體聯絡官Barb McLintock星期二表示，正在同溫哥華警察局合作調查61歲長者的死因，並將在最終報告中談到史丹利公園長堤上行人安全問題。
被撞死的北溫女子，定期在史丹利公園長堤上騎自行車。5月25日星期六，她在長堤上騎車時，與行人相撞，並被撞倒馬路上，隨後又被開往溫哥華的一輛巴士撞上，不治身亡。
溫哥華公園局隨後批准動議，加強史丹利公園長堤上的安全。公園局局長Constance Barnes說，改進措施可能包括在行人、單車騎士和機動車之間安裝屏障，類似於在Burrard Street Bridge上面已經推行的那樣。更為長遠的解決方案則可能會是拓寬人行道。Barnes強調，總之需要做出合理改進，以免類似5月25日的悲劇重演。 ◇
