| 馬英九邀請 楊秋興重回國民黨

【何孟奎／台北報導】行政院政務委員楊秋興上午赴國民黨中央，將入黨申請書交給秘書長曾永權。楊秋興受訪時說，學生時期因認為反共無望、和國民黨理念不同，所以離開，經過37年漫長時間，政治環境改變，國民黨脫胎換骨，現在重回國民黨，一切都是因緣。對於是否投入高市長選舉，他說：「現在先不談選舉」
。
楊秋興表示，馬英九總統曾召見他，笑笑地邀請他入黨，他經過思考後，決定重回國民黨。楊秋興11時許抵達國民黨中央，直接上三樓向曾永權遞交入黨申請書，兩人並晤談半個多小時；楊隨後到二樓拜會組發會主委蘇俊賓，並和黨部工作人員一一握手致意，停留半個小時後離開。

| AIT處長看台美關係 「跟芒果一樣香甜」

【陳郁仁／台北報導】美國在台協會（AIT）今在君悅飯店提前一天慶祝美國國慶，AIT處長馬啟思在致詞時提到，他日前到台南拜訪芒果果農，知道現在愛文芒果在台很受歡迎，其實愛文是50年前美國從佛羅里達州的Irwin芒果樹，嫁接到台灣的芒果樹上，才有這品種，算是台美夥伴關係中「又香又甜的果實」，期待雙邊未來繼續在民主、經濟和環境的發展上合作。
外交部長林永樂則感謝也感謝美國堅守對台承諾和《臺灣關係法》，及肯定兩岸關係的發展。
AIT今找特別來台北愛樂歌劇坊的成員、曾上過超級偶像節目的辣妹蔣啟真來演唱美國國歌。前副總統蕭萬長、立法院長王金平、國安會秘書長袁健生今也都出席慶賀。

| 販毒集團首腦恐嚇手下 打斷欠錢藥腳手臂

【林錫淵、吳柏源／高雄報導】高市一個販毒集團首腦駱姓男子（34歲，有槍砲、毒品、傷害前科），平日擁槍自重販毒，並吸收失業毒品人口當手下，遇有毒品糾紛欠錢、或手下亂說話，就暴力毆打及出言恐嚇「請吃子彈」，市刑大蒐證後提報治平對象，前天將駱男及其前妻呂女（31歲）、2名手下等共4人檢肅到案，起出1把改造手槍、1把空氣槍、安非他命12包等，依《毒品危害防制條例》、《組織犯罪防制條例》、妨害自由、傷害、恐嚇罪送辦，其中駱男及呂女遭收押。
