| 單腳馬拉松世界紀錄 澳帕運選手刷新

澳洲的帕運明星選手（米爾頓）刷新單腳馬拉松的世界紀錄，他的成績五小時、23分鐘又30秒，比上一個世界記錄快了90分鐘。
40歲的（米爾頓）參加過六屆冬季奧運，他九歲那年因為癌症截除一隻腳，不過身體殘缺，沒有阻止他追求體能極限，他是全世界速度最快的單腳滑雪選手，現在是澳洲速降滑雪記錄保持人。

| 新北青春專案 動漫女主角MIDA代言

【曾佳俊／新北報導】新北市警察局少年隊今天下午宣導暑期開始執行的青春專案，一改過去強硬嚴抓的印象，改以貼近年輕人的方式進行軟性輔導，如辦理籃球、漆彈營等休閒活動，與少年零距離接觸，而文宣中特地邀請年底即將上映的台灣自製3D動漫電影主角「MIDA」，擔任青春專案代言人，柔性呼籲青少年遠離犯罪。
少年隊隊長吳俊輝表示，少年隊設有「少年保護專線」0800-059-595，提供少年及家長暑期安全通報和緊急請求協助，另外勞工局也有「打工諮詢專線」0800-091-580，歡迎多多利用。

| 「鬼列車」重創加小鎮 死亡人數增至5人

加拿大一列沒有司機的「鬼列車」出軌，載運的大批原油爆炸起火，6日重創魁北克的美干提湖鎮（Lac-Megantic），市區大火熊熊，有如煉獄，已知有5人喪生，40人失蹤。
這起驚人鐵路事故引發的大火直沖天際，熊熊火光照亮黑夜，消防人員灌救20多小時後，搜救人員才能進入燒得焦黑的殘骸搜尋。
