根據外媒報導，美國蘋果公司將於今年秋季推出低價版 iPhone及 iPhone 5S。新浪科技引述業內人士判斷，今年中國移動(0941.HK)引進新版iPhone的可能性大增，但引進其中低價版的可能性很小。
7月30日，蘋果CEO庫克拜訪大陸三大電信商的第一站就選擇了中移動，引發中移動是否終於將引進iPhone的想像。據知情人士透露，庫克在中移動停留的時間非常長，幾乎為整整一上午，如果是例行性拜訪，似乎不需要停留這麼長時間，顯然應該是在溝通很多具體問題。
據分析，中移動是否引進新版iPhone，據悉，主要取決於高通的晶片；業內認為，中移動引進其中低價版的可能性很小，引進iPhone 5S的可能性則很大。主要因為高通研發TD-SCDMA很晚，可支援TD-SCDMA的晶片非常少，且成本非常高，業內判斷，蘋果不大可能因為中國移動而專門向高通定製一款可支援TD-SCDMA並相容其它3G、2G制式的晶片，如此一來，低價版iPhone可能就不低價了。
而高通已經有支援TD-LTE的晶片，因此，中移動有引進iPhone 5S的興趣和強大動力，且不像低價版，iPhone 5S的價格肯定不菲，所以採購貴一點的晶片不成問題。
另外，還取決於大陸4G牌照的發放問題。業內預計，新版的iPhone 5S應該會在今年第三季發布，如果屆時工信部還未向三大電信發放4G牌照，那麼中移動就無法引進。所以，對中移動而言，其肯定是希望盡早發放4G牌照，以便搭上新版iPhone 5S的上市順風車。
