需求增加、廠商拉貨速度加快，導致美國6月份躉售存貨意外減少0.2%至4,997億美元，低於彭博社預估月增0.4%。連同6月在內，躉售存貨已連續3個月下滑，為近4年來僅見。此外，5月數據也由月減0.5%下修至月減0.6%。
分析師指出，當月份汽車(月減1.5%)等存貨下滑超出預期，將迫使企業加快存貨回補速度以因應增加的市場需求，這將提升工廠訂單表現。
若與去年同期相比，6月躉售存貨年增2.9%。耐久財類存貨幾乎與前月持平、但年增4.3%；非耐久財類躉售存貨月減0.3%、年增7%。存貨是美國GDP組成的要項之一，而躉售存貨佔美國企業存貨比重約為三成，因此躉售存貨增加將可挹注美國經濟成長。
在躉售銷售方面，6月較前月上揚0.4%至4,259億美元，其中耐久財類銷售月增1.1%、年增5.4%，項下電子、電器類產品月增3.7%；非耐久財類月減0.2%、年增5.8%，項下雜貨類商品月減1.8%，而石油類製品月增5.3%。
躉售存貨/銷售比為1.17，低於前月的1.18，意味著以當前銷售速度，當前的存貨水位只能支應廠商1.17個月。

日本智慧手機/平板電腦情報部落格rbmen 12日轉述美國主流媒體AllThingsD的報導內容指出，根據訊息人士透漏，美國蘋果公司(Apple)已確定將在9月10日舉行次代iPhone產品的發表會。據報導，在9月10日舉行的發表會上，除了iPhone次世代旗鑑機種「iPhone 5S」及廉價版機種「iPhone 5C」之外，蘋果也將發表完整版的「iOS7」作業系統。報導指出，iPhone 5S/5C預估最有可能將在9月下旬開賣。
據報導，iPhone 5S設計將幾乎同於現行的iPhone 5，惟除了現有的黑色、白色之外，據傳也將追加香檳色等其他顏色，且據傳將搭載A7處理器、指紋辨識功能；另外，iPhone 5C將採用塑膠外殼，且機殼顏色將達6種。
rbmen並於12日報導指出，KGI證券分析師Ming-Chi Kuo表示，iPhone 5S的「Home」鍵設計將自現行的凹型改為凸型。Ming-Chi Kuo表示，iPhone 5S的「Home」鍵將內藏指紋感測器，惟因「Home」鍵正下方已放入蘋果專屬的連接器「Lightning connector」及揚聲器零件，造成空間不足，故為了裝入指紋感測器，迫使蘋果將「Home」鍵設計自現行的凹型變更為凸型。
Ming-Chi Kuo並指出，為了防止改用「凸型」設計的Home鍵遭劃傷或割傷，故蘋果將採用硬度更高的藍寶石玻璃。
