| 備戰東亞運 中華隊征戰世界棒球挑戰賽

中華成棒隊12日出發前往加拿大參加世界棒球挑戰賽，將於台北時間15日首戰美國太平洋岸的大學明星隊，2年前中華隊也曾參加此項比賽，獲得第2名。
根據世界棒球挑戰賽官網公布的賽程，此次比賽共有中華、美國、日本、古巴以及地主加拿大等5隊參加，中華隊預賽除了美國是太平洋岸的大學明星隊，日本與古巴則是單一球隊，而中華隊15日首戰美國隊，接下來是16日對古巴、17日對加拿大、18日對日本。預賽將決定5隊的排名，最後2天採類似頁程賽的賽制，決定最後的冠軍。
中華隊2年前曾參加此項比賽，有很精采的表現，直到最後的冠軍戰才輸給古巴國家隊，獲得亞軍。
今年中華隊參加世界棒球挑戰賽，主要是為10月的天津東亞運備戰，由於倪福德、王躍霖、羅國華、張進德、陳品捷、蔣智賢等6名旅外球員不能參加，加上黃勝雄狀況不理想需調整，因此從培訓隊拉上7名球員替補。
替補上來的培訓球員包括投手投手王宗豪、簡嘉佑、林航、范孟晨，捕手張閔勛，外野手于孟雄、吳宗峻等7人。
參加東亞運的中華隊將自8月28日起在左訓中心展開集訓，24人名單是投手(10名)：楊志龍(美孚)、陳禹勳(合庫)、謝榮豪(國訓)、黃勝雄(威達)、郭俊麟(富邦)、張賢智(航空城)、羅華韋(維輪) 、王躍霖(小熊高階1A)、羅國華(雙城新人聯盟)、倪福德(自由球員)
捕手(3名)：黃佳瑋(合庫)、劉時豪(合庫)、張進德(海盜短期1A)
內野手(6名)：林 瀚(合庫)、陳偉志(台電)、蕭帛庭(台電)、廖俊凱(富邦)、許基宏(富邦)、郭銘仁(航空城)
外野手(5名)：林旺衛(富邦)、羅國龍(崇越)、王柏融(美孚)、蔣智賢(遊騎兵2A)、陳品捷(小熊高階1A)
