台北車站是印尼外勞常去的地方。
天城飯店後面的巷子裡有好幾家印尼餐廳，台北地下街也有好幾家印尼餐廳、印尼土產店、印尼用品店，台北車站已經形成印尼外勞商圈。在台北車站，他們可以吃得到印尼菜餚，買印尼日常用品、食品等，藉以重溫鄉情。等於是印尼人過年的開齋節，三五成群的人潮，自然湧向台北車站。今年報上說有三萬人群聚，相信明年此日，相聚的人更多。
由於一時間很難找到替代的場地，所以台北車站，還有北市政府、勞委會等單位，宜未雨綢繆，好好規畫、疏導，以維持車站旅客動線暢通，同時也顧及國人應有的包容同情心。可在車站四周的空地、廣場，臨時搭起設置吹冷氣的帳篷，將大廳的人潮疏散開來。這些帳篷間也可以安排攤位出售印尼食物糕餅，甚至安排印尼民族歌舞，為開齋節應景同歡。如此順勢利導，久之也可成為台北車站一景。
