| 〈MLB〉Fielder轟皇家 終止3週全壘打荒

近3週連續82打數沒有擊出全壘打的Prince Fielder，今天(16日)首局就轟出2分砲，加上Anibal Sanchez先發7.1局只失1分，與開路先鋒Andy Dirks的4打數4安打表現，讓底特律老虎以4比1擊敗堪薩斯皇家。
儘管皇家首局就靠Chris Getz、Eric Hosmer與Alex Gordon的安打先馳得點，但Fielder下半局馬上從皇家先發投手Jeremy Guthrie手中轟出逆轉致勝2分砲，5局下，老虎再靠著Brayan Pena、Dirks、Torii Hunter與Miguel Cabrera的4支安打追加2分，最終老虎就以3分之差獲勝。
這是Fielder近3週20場比賽以來轟出的第1發全壘打，不過本季成績遠低於生涯平均的他，加上這場比賽，已經連9場擊出安打。老虎總教練Jim Leyland說：「Prince會製造得分，我不會去管他是用什麼方法。今晚剛好是用全壘打，但他本來就會製造得分，一直都是如此。」
老虎開路先鋒Dirks此役4打數擊出4安打，首局就率先敲出安打開啟攻勢，5局下更擊出二壘安打，為3、4棒的Hunter與Cabrera創造機會。談到今天的打擊狀況，Dirks說：「感覺很棒。這很難形容，就是一種感覺。我可以感覺到揮棒時球棒的路徑，我的擊球時機更好了，一切都到位，手和腳的動作也都更好。」
Sanchez則連續第4場比賽繳出投滿7局失2分以內的成績，在7.1局中投出5次三振僅1四壞，被擊出7安打只失1分，幫助老虎奪下主場10連勝，Sanchez自己則贏得4連勝。
在5連戰的首場比賽擊敗皇家後，老虎將美聯中區領先第2名克利夫蘭印地安人的勝差擴大到6.5場。皇家則在美中暫居第3，落後老虎8.5場勝差。
