【楊忠翰、李銘宏、陳冠宇╱台北報導】北市一名警員昨臨檢酒駕美籍男子，男子拒絕盤查，騎車穿梭小巷逃跑，狂飆十公里至偏僻山區公墓，與警展開肉搏戰，警員體型雖不敵老外壯碩，仍持警棍奮戰，卻遭老外霸王肘及泰山壓頂伺候，警棍也打歪，警員急掏槍射擊老外腿部，才結束這場襲警鬧劇。

【綜合報導】日本鹿兒島市的櫻島火山今天(18日)下午爆發，噴出的火山灰創歷史新高達到5千公尺空中，這已是該火山今年第500次爆發。
櫻島海拔800公尺，是一座活火山，火山爆發後，大量火山灰隨風吹進鹿兒島市中心，居民出外都要撐傘並戴上口罩，市內部份列車已經暫停行駛。

| 機車追撞老婦 2人重傷

【楊勝裕／新竹報導】今晚7時許，新竹市中華路4段發生一輛機車追撞推著娃娃車、載紙箱的88歲吳姓老婦，造成老婦彈飛約10分尺遠，重傷倒地不起；而雙載的騎士和乘客也彈飛到馬路上，雙雙受傷躺在路旁。後方用路人見狀下車察看，並報請119派人搶救。救護車到時，消防人員先幫老太太做人工呼吸，並送往國泰醫院搶救，同時將肇事的兩名受傷的機車騎士和乘客送南門醫院救治，其中洪姓騎士頭部受傷。
