| 男子闖水源區抓魚 跌5米巨石身亡

【王文傑／花蓮報導】秀林鄉水源村一名29歲歐姓男子，今天上午跟父親及族人共6人到娑婆礑溪南溪抓魚，歐男爬上巨石查看魚況，不慎從5米高的巨石跌落，後腦杓撞擊溪底石塊陷入昏迷。花蓮縣消防隊動員30多名警義消、山警徒步接力搬運，將歐男送醫急救仍宣告不治。死者母親見到愛子遺體痛哭失聲，直說：「叫你別去還要去，現在怎麼辦啦！」
警方表示，死者歐治明住鄰近的水源村，平時在酒廠作工，與妻育有兩子。娑婆礑溪南溪是自來水廠管制區，是提供花蓮市、吉安鄉的重要水源，平時大門深鎖禁止進入。

| MLB／老虎隊王牌薛瑟19勝 完全壓制大都會打線

經過了大都會松坂大輔先發的重要日子，焦點又放到老虎隊，底特律老虎隊王牌Max Scherzer再次證明自己是「塞揚獎」熱門人選，拿到本季第19勝，本季先發26場，他就拿下19勝1敗的超優質成績。
如果說Scherzer是猛虎，那大都會隊Matt Harvey就是蛟龍，本季他表現出色，也獲選明星賽，拿到9勝。
這場Harvey主投6.2局，被打13支安打，失2分，不幸吞敗，但是Scherzer更猛，投6局才被打3支安打，飆出11次三振，目前防禦率才2.73。
老虎隊在2局上先馳得點，Scherzer好投又好打，在2局上Andy Dirks二壘安打上壘後，Brayan Pena也敲安後，他敲出的二壘安打送回1分，Jackson也補上一刀，再度敲出安打讓虎隊拿下2分領先。
9局上老虎隊利用Don Kelly的高飛犧牲打演出，老虎隊最後才以3:0獲勝。
大都會隊遭老虎隊牛棚聯手完封，全隊才打出3支安打，完全無法突破猛虎軍團投手威力。
Scherzer賽後說，「我覺得我今天投得不錯，不過我沒有投得很有效率，我的球並沒有過去犀利，但是我在重要時刻可以投得很好，這是最重要的事。」
