| 五分之一美國人不上網

【大紀元2013年08月26日訊】（大紀元記者海寧編譯報導）雖然98%的美國人可以通過寬帶上網，但五分之一美國人在家裏、工作地點以及學校裏仍然不使用互聯網。
《紐約時報》報導，奧巴馬政府在2009年的經濟刺激計劃中專門撥出70億美元，以普及寬帶使用。那時祇有90%的美國家庭有安裝寬帶的選擇。現在那些計劃已經完成一半，98%的美國人可以通過寬帶上網。但是實際使用互聯網的美國成年人數基本沒有改變。那麼甚麼因素阻止了美國人上網呢？
首先，有很多美國老人沒有計算機或者是智能手機。他們缺乏使用互聯網的能力。
《紐約時報》稱，阿拉巴馬州70歲的卡車司機埃爾莫•格裏芬（Elmer Griffin）去一個汽車零件店應聘時被拒，因為他不會使用計算機查閱庫存。格裏芬表示，該工作需要他知道如何操作電腦。他說，如果你不知道如何使用互聯網，僱主甚至不願意跟你談。
其次，互聯網接入的費用是另外一個主要原因。密西西比州的小學助教格洛莉亞•比恩（Gloria Bean）稱自己用不起互聯網，以至於影響了孩子們的教育。
為了能用上網絡，比恩經常在接孩子之後，把他們帶到當地圖書館。許多美國的圖書館都提供免費的電腦和網絡。但是比恩居住地的圖書館祇有10台電腦。
有一些政府項目試圖解決這兩個主要問題。奧巴馬政府從2009年的經濟刺激計劃中拿出5億美元教美國人使用電腦。一些互聯網提供商已開始向低收入家庭提供網絡服務。比如康卡斯特（Comcast）的「互聯網精要」項目每月只需10美元。

前總統李登輝日前因椎動脈阻塞手術，休養超過一個半月，而今（24）日晚間他將親自出席李登輝基金會募款餐會，這是他術後首度公開露面。近日備受矚目的台大醫師柯文哲，也將出席餐會。
李登輝基金會晚間的募款餐會，李登輝妻子李曾文惠與孫女李坤儀都將陪同出席。其他確定出席的賓客，包括民進黨主席蘇貞昌、台聯主席黃昆輝、前副總統呂秀蓮、前行政院長游錫堃、前總統府資政辜寬敏夫婦、前立委吳東昇、民進黨團總召柯建銘，以及民進黨立委李應元等人。
前行政院長謝長廷出國未歸、前民進黨主席蔡英文則另有行程，兩人均不會出席。
