| 韓新年民調：兩韓「維持現狀」大幅增加

南韓民眾對兩韓統一的熱望大幅降溫。一項統計顯示，認為「應該儘快實現兩韓統一」的人，比20年前減少了一半，而認為「與其統一，不如維持現狀」的人，卻增加了一倍之多。
特別是，20多歲的南韓年輕人中，有25%希望保持現狀。就是說，對兩韓統一的熱望在降溫，而贊成分立體制的呼聲在提高。
根據南韓朝鮮日報和民調機構最近一次調查顯示，回答「應該儘快實現兩韓統一」的受訪者，佔19.9%，比1994年南韓「蓋洛普民調」的40.9%，減少了一半；回答「與其統一，不如維持現狀」的受訪者，上升到16.8%，比1994年的7%增加了9.8個百分點；支持「應該在10年後，逐步實現統一」的人，也從48%上升到60.9%。
對兩韓統一抱持消極的人數增加，是因為擔心統一可能加重經濟負擔和社會混亂。
