【綜合報導】近年有關全球暖化的爭議不斷，2007年時甚至還曾有研究強調今年北極海冰山將會全部融化，但是今夏北極海冰不但沒有減少，反而較去年增加6成，使得全球暖化的說法再受質疑。

去年北極海冰山大幅融化，面積下跌到歷年來新低。不過，北極海冰山的融化在今年並沒有繼續，從美國國家太空總署(NASA)的衞星圖片可見，北極海冰山在今夏的面積，反而比去年同期大幅增加6成。海冰由加拿大的島嶼，一直伸延至俄羅斯北部海岸。至於連接太平洋和大西洋的北極「西北航道」全年都被冰封，許多船隻被逼折返。

英國《每日郵報》引述部分科學家的說法，認為地球將進入全球冷化的時代，直到本世紀中葉。聯合國政府間氣候變化專門委員會(IPCC)今年10月將會發表新一份評估報告。
