【綜合報導】美國參議院在台灣時間1日凌晨2點，開會表決共和黨提出的預算案附帶條件，也就是將歐巴馬總統的醫療改革法案擱置1年，結果以54票對46票，否決附帶條件，2黨現在剩下不到12小時，解決歧見。
 
美國政府本會計年度，在台灣時間1日中午12點前結束，如果2黨無法在期限前就預算案達成共識，美國政府將勢必會重蹈17年前柯林頓政府的覆轍，暫時關門大吉。雖然負責國家安全的三軍及緊急救難等單位的員工仍將在領不到薪水的情況下，繼續留在工作崗位。但只要政府持續停擺，估計將有超過100萬聯邦政府員工賦閒在家。

【綜合報導】日本最大無線通訊商NTT docomo，研發出一款可即時翻譯文字的視覺輔助工具，戴上這款「眼鏡」，內建系統會自動辨識文字，接著透過智慧手機，連上雲端資料庫進行翻譯，目前提供日文、英文、中文和韓文四國文字互譯。
 
研發人員表示之後到外國旅遊，看到不認識的路標、招牌或是菜單，戴上眼鏡閱讀就能自動翻譯成使用者會的語言，這款眼鏡的使用方式就和Google眼鏡類似，影像也會顯示在眼鏡的小螢幕上，而且還有臉部辨識功能，透過在智慧手機上建立的照片通訊錄進行比對。
 
這款裝置預計在2020年東京奧運前可正式上市。
