【賴德剛╱中國天津報導】中國隊平均年齡24歲，除了昨天第1棒李磊、9棒褚夫佳曾是2008年北京奧運、09年第2屆經典賽擊敗台灣的陣容，其餘22人都是新人，天津雄獅隊教練江泰權說：「中國會刻意挑選不同的年輕球員打不同國際賽，讓他們吸收比賽經驗，熟面孔很少。」

臨時組成 東亞運後解散

江泰權表示，中國不像台灣由選訓小組決定名單，而是由中國小球中心棒球部部長直接下條子到各隊，指名球員在規定日期集訓，有時會刻意選年輕選手，所以並非是集全國棒球菁英來打國際賽。
中國有北京猛虎、天津雄獅、上海金鷹、廣東獵豹、四川蛟龍、江蘇希望之星與河南吉象共7支成棒隊，美國大聯盟雖在江蘇無錫設棒球發展中心，但學員是大聯盟自行在中國各地覓才，訓練出來的球員不支援中國國家隊，而是送到美國訓練，被評估達標者就留在美國待有朝一日上大聯盟。
江泰權表示，中國隊是臨時組成參加東亞運與亞洲職棒大賽，但因今年中國不打亞職，所以東亞運結束後就解散，明年亞運再重組，他說：「中國隊因為抱著輕鬆心態練球跟比賽，打起來反而完全放得開，台灣則有輸不得壓力，但其實台灣棒球水準還是高很多。」
