【大紀元2013年10月18日訊】（大紀元記者于婉蘋台灣基隆報導）畢東江是海洋大學商船系的校友，畢業後赴美國，憑藉著「經營郵輪、暢遊大河」的構想創立了美國維多利亞郵輪集團公司，專門從事長江豪華遊輪經營管理，目前是長江上第一家且唯一將創新管理和服務理念引入長江遊輪的公司。

18日上午，國立臺灣海洋大學頒發名譽商學博士學位表彰美國維多利亞郵輪集團公司總裁畢東江，對於郵輪旅遊服務產業的貢獻暨促進臺灣郵輪產業基礎環境與培育人才的提升。

頒授典禮中，邀請中國國民黨榮譽主席吳伯雄引言。同時表示，高級郵輪產業將是亞洲的未來市場，希望藉以美國維多利亞郵輪集團公司的旅遊成功經驗，將資金、技術與高品質服務引入臺灣，結合航港業者，擴展郵輪旅遊。

1970年尚在伊莉莎白皇后號工作，爾後提出以「大江、大海、大港」的思維開創了國維多利亞郵輪集團公司，為成功將「維多利亞郵輪」打造成為精品名牌，畢東江堅持「品牌」和「信譽」不可分割。因此， 2001年曾登上美國主流旅遊業的代表性雜誌「旅遊代理」（Travel Agent）封面人物。

海洋大學表示，60周年校慶將屆，海內外校友紛紛以不同方式慶賀母校生日，畢東江博士在事業有成時也樂於回饋母校，捐建、整修海大人文大樓「國際會議廳」。
