住在俄亥俄州的蘭姆有天突然夢見自己在電視中演出屍體一角，醒來後發覺很有搞頭，就此開啟了自己的戲劇之路。『我可以成為一名「死屍人」，每部電視劇都需要死屍。』

據金華網報導，據了解，蘭姆原本是名工程師，但為了開拓夢想，他在2005年創建了『死屍人』網站，並在上面張貼許多扮死屍的照片來『自我營銷』，結果效果出奇的好。短時間內，蘭姆就獲得許多在電視劇和電影中演出機會，甚至還因此登上《紐約時報》而一夕爆紅。

『我看起來就像個死人。』蘭姆表示，自己不只臉色蒼白、禿頭、還有適合扮演屍體的眼袋，就是為了此道而生。
